About us

EDP Starter mission is to connect the innovation power of startups and SMEs with EDP, to create new business and growth opportunities for both parties. With innovation hubs in Lisbon, Madrid, São Paulo and Houston, we run several programs across the globe to source the best solutions to help EDP in accelerating the energy transition. Over the last 5 years, we have built relationships with over 200 companies and generated €40M in deals.

Programs and Events
Each year, EDP Starter organizes two flagship business acceleration programs for startups, Free Electrons and Starter Business Acceleration, and takes part in other global innovation events, such as ICCC (Investor Corporate Customer Connect),
ScaleUp Porto, BGI’s (Building Global Innovators) EIT Digital Open Innovation, Portugal Mobi Summit, Davos Energy Week, Building the Future or Pitch for Impact, the last two by Microsoft.

Through its continuous sourcing for collaboration with startups and SMEs, EDP Starter promotes non-stop discussions throughout the year to scope pilot-projects that meet the innovation needs of the different EDP Group’s Business Units,
